Colleen has been involved with Safe Crossings Foundation since the beginning when her mom, Teresa Bigelow, co-founded the organization. In the last 5 years, she has joined the Executive Board and is currently serving as the President of the Board.
She is very passionate about the work SCF funds. Her hope is that kids and families in our community who lose a child or parent feel supported in their grief are able to celebrate, mourn and grow with our help.
Her dad died when she was 7 and her two younger brothers were 5 years and 6 months old. She, her brothers and her mom had a great deal of support from their community, friends, family, teachers, nannies and professional counselors. She believes that it was that support that has helped her become the person she is today.
